Light Blue: Photo v2 is here!

Posted on Thursday 14 January 2010

Over the last few months, to an outside observer, we've been unusually quiet. That's not the case in the Light Blue Software bunker! It's been a hive of activity, as we've been working night and day on Light Blue: Photo v2.

We've been listening to what our users have to say, and have added some extra things which we've been wanting to build in for ages. It all adds up to a cracking new release.

Completely redesigned. Light Blue: Photo was already widely praised as being easy to use and more polished than any other photography business software (something that FileMaker themselves agreed with, saying that Light Blue: Photo was "...one of the slickest vertical market solutions we'd ever had the pleasure of picking apart, wide in scope with innovative, clever, features built to high standards, demonstrating an exemplary user experience" when we won a major award from them). We've used the feedback we've received from our users to make Light Blue: Photo even more intuitive and easier to use, both for existing users and newcomers.

As part of the redesign, we've worked on every single screen in Light Blue: Photo, polishing the interface and adding dozens of new enhancements.

Multi-seat version available. Light Blue: Photo is now available in single-user and multi-seat versions. The multi-seat version allows you to provide access to the same set of data to multiple computers on the same network.

Even more flexible invoice, quote & receipt templates. The invoice, quote & receipt templates in Light Blue: Photo were already customisable by our users at no extra cost, but we've taken them a step further in version 2 by allowing you to use templates you've designed in Word (or other word processors) in much the same way that you could already have other mail-merge templates.

Meetings. Schedule meetings as well as jobs within Light Blue: Photo v2.

Improved iCal sync. Light Blue: Photo could already publish your shoots to iCal at no extra cost. The new version also publishes your meetings and tasks, and you can pull new appointments and changes made in iCal back into the application.

Improved publication to Google Calendar. Faster and more robust.

Expenses and mileage. A full purchase accounts system was added in LBP 1.5. Version 2.0 adds mileage tracking and out-of-pocket expenses for staff.

Staff management. While Light Blue: Photo 2.0 is still suitable for individual photographers, large studios can now assign staff to shoots, meetings and tasks.

Customisable fields. Customisable fields have been added to the Contact and Shoot screens. Change field labels for these yourself at no extra cost.

Take a free, fully functioning 30-day trial and discover the new features within Light Blue: Photo for yourself. If you like it, you can register it at our new lower prices.
