Emails: adding images to your emails

When sending emails within Light Blue, it’s possible to include images. This is a great way of showcasing your work and making your emails look more interesting.

You can add images to every type of email in Light Blue (including email templates), as well as to email signatures.

The basics of adding an image

To add an image, set your cursor to wherever you’d like the image to appear, then click on the “Insert Image button” in the toolbar.

Then you can choose a file from your computer to upload into your email/template.

Using your own hosted image

By default, when you add an image to an email, Light Blue will upload the image to our servers. If your image is already publicly available online elsewhere (e.g. on your own web server) then you can enter the URL for the image instead.

The image must be able to be accessed via that URL which will load just the image and nothing else. Services like Google Drive and Dropbox are not suitable for this.

Floating images to the side of some text

To add an image that you want to sit beside some text, perhaps in your email signature, follow these steps:

  • Insert the image above the text you’d like it to sit beside
  • Click on the inserted image
  • Choose the left or right align option that appears over the image
