Overview of Proposals
Proposals are part of the next major release of Light Blue, which is currently in open beta testing.
If you’d like early access to this version, please contact us.
Light Blue’s proposals let clients build their own quote by selecting a package and optional add-ons, creating a more interactive booking experience.
This makes it easier to upsell additional products and services while giving clients more flexibility in choosing what’s right for them.
You can send a proposal to a client directly from a shoot record by either adding the proposal to the activity tab, or including the proposal as a step in a workflow.
Templates & Blocks

Proposal templates are the foundation of your proposals in Light Blue. A template can be a ready-to-send proposal or a flexible starting point that you can tailor for each shoot.
Get started by setting up a proposal template.
Your proposal is made up of blocks – these are the sections your clients see and can include:
- Packages block (required) – lets clients choose a package.
- Optional add-ons – allow clients to customise their package with extras.
- Text blocks – great for introductory text and setting the tone.
- Image and video blocks – help you explain, visualise, or sell your offer more effectively.
- Summary block (required) – displays a summary of your clients’ choices.
Styling Your Proposals
With flexible styling options, you can create beautiful, on-brand proposals that make a strong impression on your clients. You can keep things clean and simple, or elevate them with beautifully designed content that reflects the high-end, boutique experience you offer.

Additional Stages Offering a Smooth Client Experience

You can include other powerful features alongside your proposal to create a smooth, joined-up journey:
- Scheduling calendar: Let clients book the date and time of their shoot, or schedule a planning call or consultation. Ideal if you like to build relationships and prep before the project begins.
- Booking form: Gather all the essential details at just the right time, so you’re fully prepared without the usual back-and-forth.
- Contract: Include your terms and conditions and get them signed upfront – no need for separate documents or extra emails.
Add additional stages to your proposal template
When a client completes a proposal, Light Blue automatically creates a quote record. This acts as a useful reference, showing exactly which products and services the client has selected and agreed to.
You can also collect a booking fee as part of the proposal process, and optionally generate one or more invoices – giving you a smooth and professional way to handle payments from the start. If you’re generating an invoice for the full amount or for the remaining balance, you can also apply a payment schedule.

Whether you’re a wedding photographer, filmmaker, or creative professional, proposals can be tailored to suit your workflow, showcase your services, and help you book more clients with ease.
