Refunding a paid invoice

Issuing a refund for an invoice that’s already been paid by your client is slightly different from issuing a credit note for an unpaid invoice. This is for where the customer’s paid you and you’ve recorded that fact, but then for some reason you want to give them some money back. 

We’ve made it easy to do this in Light Blue: all you need to do is click the “Issue Refund” button that appears on any sale that’s already been marked as paid.

When you click the “Issue Refund” button, Light Blue will automatically create a credit note for the full amount of the original invoice and mark it as paid because you will be sending the money back to your client.
