We just love it when we get a good writeup in a magazine. Imagine our faces when we get two!
First up, the stalwart of the British photography press, British Journal of Photography. Established in 1854, it's the world's longest-running photography magazine, so the people there know a thing or two about what's good in the world of photography.
Reviewing Light Blue v3 in their April 2011 issue, they're obviously impressed - "...even as a sole operator, it’s not only exceptionally useful as an income and lead tracking system, it’s a real lifesaver in terms of remaining focused on the job."
BJP was also glowing in its praise of our hosting service. "For a larger studio, including multiple sites, Light Blue is exceptional. A hosted solution ... allows multi-user access, provides a secure off-site backup and makes the new iPad/iPhone compatibility via FileMaker Go! very relevant. If you’ve got a sales team on the road, they can be equipped with 3G iPads and take bookings, check resource availability and allocation, and ensure all that data is visible immediately to other sales/administration staff instantly. This sort of solution would cost thousands to implement normally; Light Blue is providing something that would previously require a bespoke setup and a lot of work on the part of developers and users alike."
Meanwhile, Master Photography Magazine, the magazine of the MPA, one of Britain's leading organisations for professional photographers, is equally glowing. They're particularly impressed with how Light Blue prompts you to follow 'best practice' for a photographic business. As they say, "typical practice might leave out the follow-up marketing email and calls, and perhaps take two months for delivery of prints. If your ears are burning (and trust me, mine are as I'm writing this!) then Light Blue will be genuinely useful and could make running your business a lot less stressful."
Master Photography Magazine also points out one of our strengths - our responsiveness to user feedback. "A lot of work has gone into refining and improving the software - and user feedback does make it into the updates, as the resource manager demonstrates ... further updates are in the pipeline, with the task manager coming in for a lot of development attention."
