The launch of Light Blue v2 in January was an enormous success, but we're not resting on our laurels. The team here at Light Blue Software is always working on ways to improve Light Blue and we've combined our own wish list with the feedback that our loyal users have been sending us into version 2.1, which has been released today.
A long list of tweaks and improvements has been included in the update, including several changes that will a big difference to all of our users who depend on the Google Calendar features included in Light Blue. To find out more about what's included in the latest update, read on.
Light Blue v2.1 is a free update for everyone who's registered their copy of Light Blue v2.
We've discovered than some anti-virus and other security software can interfere with how Light Blue tries to publish your events to Google Calendar. If you've been affected by this, please check the FAQ sections of our website to find out more about setting up your security software to play nicely with Light Blue.
An issue that could create duplicate entries in Google Calendar has been fixed. If you've been affected by this, delete the calendar you've dedicated to Light Blue, then go to the 'Calendars' panel of the 'General' tab of the 'Settings' screen in Light Blue and click the 'Reset sync data' button before publishing your events.
%clienttitle%, %shootquotetaxrate% and %shootquotetax% tags have been added.
The %clientfullname% tag now returns "Jane & Joe Bloggs" for wedding clients if their last names are the same (n.b. "Jane & Joe Bloggs" is just an example pair of names - we're not quite that stupid).
When meetings are published to iCal or Google Calendar, more information about their 'parent' shoot is included.
Products in a price list can now be re-ordered using the arrows in the price list. Clicking the + button will insert a new product after the selected row, rather than at the end. The 'web sort order' field has been done away with - products will now appear in the same order that they appear in Light Blue.
When generating a web gallery that includes a shopping cart, you will now be warned if any of the fields which are necessary for the shopping cart have not been set.
The quality of the images created for web galleries has been improved.
'Today' and 'Tomorrow' quick queries have been added for the Shoots section.
Wedding anniversary quick queries have been added to the Shoots section.
A 'Last 12 months' option has been added to all of the quick reports.
If you've chosen "US Letter" as your default paper size, the labels printed from the Shoot and Contact list views are printed onto Avery 8160 label sheets rather than Avery L7162 (which remains the format used for A4).
You can now apply a password to your copy of Light Blue. Check out the updated user guide if you'd like to find out how to go about doing this.
These are just the most important new features included in Light Blue v2.1, which includes dozens of extra tweaks and fixes.
